On behalf of the Parish Council of Blindcrake, Welcome! Our Parish, which lies at the Northwestern limit of the Lake District National Park in Cumbria, comprises the village of Blindcrake, the hamlets of Redmain and Sunderland, and Isel. This website provides details of the activities of the Parish Council, local events and general information.

Events

All events are held in Blindcrake Village Hall unless otherwise stated. The cost of hiring the village hall is £7 per hour (£3.50 for half-hour) for meetings, classes or workshops and £10 per hour for parties and events. There is a returnable deposit on bookings (£50-£100, depending on event), returned in full if the hall is left clean and tidy. 23rd Mar 2019 20.00-23.00 The Evening Inn  Evening Inn Village Pub. The Evening Inn sessions will restart in September - watch this space.
23rd May 2019 07.00-22.00 European Elections.
17th Jun 2019 19.30 Extraordinary Parish Council Meeting.  The Parish Council is holding a special meeting open to all, about the proposed quarrying on the Clints hill area (opposite side of the road from Moota quarry, i.e. overlooking Blindcrake and Sunderland among other places).  Please come along and make your views known on this very local issue.
23rd Jun 2019 19.00 Mid-Summer Concert at St Michael's Church, Isel. The Castlegate Singers will be performing in this lovely summer setting. Ticets at £6 (including refreshments) from Ann Thonpson (01900 823763), Margaret Mossop (01900 823492) or Elaine Marrs (01900 824754) or on the door. Proceeds to the Isel Church Funds.
30th Jun 2019 10.30-16.30 Blindcrake Parish Garden Safari. Our annual extravaganza of open gardens takes place as usual in June. Further details to follow. Contact Rachel at villagehall@blindcrake.org.uk to volunteer for opening your garden or to help with teas etc in the village hall on the day.
8th Jul 2019 19.30 Parish Council meeting. All parishioners are welcome and may raise any relevant issues at the start of the meeting.
